A gift

Sorry it's not a gift for you! It's a gift for my mommy. I have yet to make my mom anything quilted or knit or any of the other crafty things that I do, so finally she is getting something. A little background, they live on Lake Erie/Rondeau Bay, the Bay is out their front window and they have a dock with all the water toys that one can imagine. The house use to be our "cottage" but when my brother and I were finally out of the house for good it was time to turn it into a house. A lot of adding on, a bit of rebuilding, and tons of painting and hard wood. Now is it the little water sanctuary that we all come to on the weekends when the weather is nice and Grandma and Papa can watch the little one.

Okay enough of the tanget, onto the gift. My parents, much to my shagrin, have a very nautical theme in the house, but not your normal nautical theme, they found it in pink! Of course right. Thank goodness for Tula Pink and her Neptune line, seriously where else could I find stylish pink and coordinating colours to make this table runner work?

So here are the results. I used kind of a disappearing nine patch idea for this one. This was my first attempt trying this kind of thing and I think that it works great for this piece, or so I hope. I love the binding, and the back matches. I hope that she enjoyes it, and I hope (as does my sister-in-law) that it will permanently replaces the pink table cloth that is now being showcased!

Very, very pretty...the colors and pattern work delightfully together. No, pink and nautical don't automatically come to mind...LOL!...but this definitely works, and your mom will LOVE it! Great work, Barbara :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))
