Awful birthday . . . what's next?

Okay so it was my birthday yesterday and the day just seemed to go downhill. I would have much rather stayed in bed, and slept, maybe next year. The day ended with me driving home from a late meeting to the sound of a flat tire, pulling over at a Sunoco station and then waiting 45 minutes for CAA to arrive to put my dummy tire on. My day today started with a trip to Canadian Tire to waste $75 more on a new tire.

So what's next? Something I can get behind. I am trying out my first full-sized quilt for someone I know. They don't know it yet though. I found what looks to be a pretty simple constuction in March's QuickQuilts.

Here is a little peek at their picture. I love the colours and the mix with a somewhat bold pattern. I love the modern nature of this quilt as well, and of course I love that it seems like I should be able to do it. I ordered all the material yesterday for the top and can't wait for it to arrive so I can get cutting.

So any tips for my first big quilt? I would love to hear them!

Happy Birthday...belated!...sounds like it was not a stellar day though....LOL! My own birthday was the end of this past December, we had just go back from a Christmas trip to my family in the USA and I spent my birthday a-snooze with jet lag...tee-hee...But there's always next birthday! ;o) The sneak peek of your quilt is progress is a great tease...LOVE those colors and hint at patterns...Can't wait to see it finished! Happy Day ((HUGS))
