It was made for my niece Gracie, on a little $20 machine that my mom had got me from Canadian Tire, I think that it was called the DressMaker2 or something like that. I had little idea what I was doing and I followed a pattern that had to be thrown out part way through because I didn't cut anything the right way. Gracie doesn't look like she minds!
This is my latest quilt.
This one was a gift for a bridal shower, and I really can say that it might be my favourite so far. I had just discovered the world of moda basic jelly rolls! Who knew I didn't have to cut white sashing anymore, anything that makes my life easier is a bonus for me.
I've leaned a lot, but I had yet to learn how to stipple, and I'm waiting for that still. I've learned to better judge the colours and patterns that I want to use together and what that will look like when it's finished. I've also learned that there is an amazing community out there of hip young moms like myself who are taking back this tradition that likely our grandmothers did and our mothers passed by on their way to other things. Thanks for the chance to show these off, I can't wait to see what everyone has created.
I've got two more quilts almost ready to quilt, one is a BotCamp one that might end up for William and the other is an Amy Butler dot lap quilt that I plan on actually keeping for myself, imagine that! Pictures to come soon!
I really love these! The first doesn't look like a first quilt at all! I'm not so fond of my first quilt ;( I was amazed that I taught myself, though! Can't wait to see what you have in the works!!!! ;)
